Multiple Concussions Just the Beginning

In the wake of recent reports of long-term health effects of repeated concussions in professional athletes, a new study finds increased rates of concussion-related symptoms in high-school athletes with a history of two or more previous concussions.  The early studies indicate long-term effects are often triggered by the repeat concussions.

While agreement on how to fund high school sports continues to be a hot button across the country, the fear factors involved with complete elimination of the activities options is also daunting.  In Arizona, at least one town is not taking the axing of its school activities programs in stride.

LOI Day With a Twist

National Signing Day doesn't mean a lot to those who don't follow college football religiously. But for those who do, it's the biggest day of the off-season.  Signing day in 2010 brought with it a whole new meaning to the words Letter of Intent for both Jake Nicolopulos and Clemson University and their scholarship for a different reason.
